Comments Policy Update

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

This is as much an update as it is your friendly neighborhood PSA. As Social Matter has grown in traffic, the quality of the comments has started to decline, and we don’t yet want to turn off comments altogether without first running a trial period in which we more clearly lay out a new policy. Time to apply the hand of Gnon. Quoting from the comment policy page: “Enjoy your stay, but don’t run your mouth off. Wipe your boots off on the mat outside before you come in. If your comment isn’t up to decent standards of conduct and professionalism, then we’ll […]

The Cultivation of Political Hatred

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

Cultivating political hatred requires a concerted, calculated effort, expended over an extended period of time. When executed properly, the target of the hate campaign comes to be held up as the perpetrator of all the great crimes of history, all the recent crimes which have happened nearby, all of the recent political reversals of the state, and even the petty personal hurts felt by the ordinary people. When the state is weak, and the people come to suffer injustice, it’s natural for hatreds to develop among the people. When the laws are muddled, inconsistent, and unjust, injustice goes unpunished, unanswered, […]

The Enthedening of Media Spin

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

hicks in court

Following the brutal murder of 3 Muslim students in North Carolina, calls have started across the world for this to be recognized as a hate crime, and even terrorism on par with Charlie Hebdo. In some respects, Craig Stephen Hicks seems like an unlikely culprit for committing a hate crime of any kind, much less an act of terror. While he was an anti-theist, he also seems to have been an anti-Tea Party liberal who promoted the causes we expect from such a demographic: gay marriage, abortion, and fedora-tipping rants about ignorant bible-thumpers. On the other hand, his neighbours describe […]

Straight Shots at the Prayer Breakfast

I don’t rant about Barack Obama too often, at least not compared your average Tennessee conservative. And I try to hold back because, well… at the end of the day he’s just a fruit. (I mean that in the sense of “low hanging,” of course, of being an easy target. I would never cast aspersions against our Commander-In-Chief’s unimpeachable heterosexuality.) That and it’s important not to take DC political theater too seriously. But every once in a while I have to indulge my inner red-stater and upbraid old Obummer for some egregious display of mendacity or another. His comments at […]

The Dismal Ecology Of Immigration

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

swiss

The USA contains the third largest national population behind India and China. In 35 years, the population of the States is expected to reach 400 million. This is primarily driven by the influx of mestizo immigrants who bring their prodigious breeding habits and a fantasy of American consumer excess. It’s not an ecologically friendly combination. Many of our future resource deficiencies and unnatural calamities will be the direct consequence of overpopulation brought about by the proliferating mestizo demographic. The calculus of this disproportionate expansion shouldn’t be limited to an assessment of lost welfare monies, potential crimes, or regional displacement. A […]

Why Big Families Are An Advantage

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

It’s supposed to be good sense among the better classes that large families are something only for religious zealots who hold backwards views about women still have. In the eyes of the new class, having many children is a sign of backwards beliefs. It is also a crimp on the lifestyle that the better sort of person is supposed to enjoy. How can both spouses ‘lean in’ at the office when there are six or more children to take care of? Sending just one child to Harvard costs a lot of money out of pocket. How can anyone afford to […]

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin: Autist

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

theautist

Last Wednesday, USA Today obtained a 2008 report commissioned by a Pentagon think-tank that postulated long-time Russian President and part-time bare-chested Siberian horseman Vladimir Putin had Asperger’s Syndrome, “an autistic disorder which affects all of his decisions.” Further accusations include a citation from a psychiatry professor that “Putin carries a form of autism,” that Putin “carries a neurological abnormality” and that his “neurological development was significantly interrupted in infancy.” These reports get mighty specific too: “Today, project neurologists confirm this research project’s earlier hypothesis that very early in life perhaps, even in utero, Putin suffered a huge hemispheric event to the left […]

Lucy-Anne Holmes of Hove doesn’t share my zeal for the female form. She’s petitioning The Sun’s editor David Dinsmore to remove what’s arguably the best part of the paper, the topless ladies on Page 3. Exhibiting the overinflated sense of self-importance often characterizing progressive crusaders, 18-year-old campaign supporter Yas Necati “We haven’t had much contact with The Sun, probably because they’re so terrified of us!” One can only imagine the gut laughing that rang out in News UK’s offices if and when they heard Necati’s quip. Certainly not one to be given to hyperbole, Necati believes the fight against Page […]
